When nine-year-old Maddison McInerney was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in 2003 her parents were devastated.
"When the blood tests revealed our little girl had cancer, it was just unbelievable," said Maddison's mum Belinda.
For Rob and Belinda McInerney, who already had three kids, their life was turned upside down. Rob and Belinda had to split their time between being in the hospital with Maddison and being at home with their other children.
It was during those long days in the hospital that t he Mclnereneys found out about Camp Quality.
The Mclnerneys went on their first Family Camp when Maddison was stilt in treatment. "We'd been separated as a family and to come together on Camp Quality's family camp was the best thing ever."
"We got to spend time away from the hospital and reconnect as a family," said Belinda.
"Camp Quality really focuses on involving the whole family throughout the cancer journey and t hat's so important because cancer affects everyone involved."
They are happy to report that Maddison is now in remission. Now with a family of seven kids, Family Camp continues to be an invaluable support and a big part of their lives.
Remember every donation counts so support families like the Mclnereneys today!
